How to Ensure That the Workers in a Graphic Design Firm are Fully Engaged at Work

25 February 2014 by Popeye

You can do several things, to ensure that the workers in a graphic design firm are fully engaged at work.

Firstly, to ensure that the workers in a graphic design firm are fully engaged at work, you need to deploy them where they are likely to be most effective.

Secondly, to ensure that the workers in a graphic design firm are fully engaged at work, you need to set for them good targets. You also need to give them incentives for actually meeting the targets.

Thirdly, to ensure that the workers in a graphic design firm are fully engaged at work, you need to ensure that they are well taken care of, in terms of welfare. It becomes impossible to attain optimal levels of motivation in staff if the staff members are continually worrying about where their next meals are to come from. Of course, it is possible to take proper care of staff welfare and still end up with some of the workers struggling: hence the need to go a step further, and consider offering them good personal finance education. Staff welfare is not just financial: you also need to ensure that the workers are trained in a humane way, and that the workplace is generally conducive to productivity for them.

Getting Updates for the Graphic Design Software You Use in Your Graphic Design Company

12 February 2014 by Popeye

The manner in which you get updates for the graphic design software you use in your graphic design company depends on the manner in which you acquired the software in the first place. It could be that you brought a software developer to your company to create (code) the software for you. It could also be that you downloaded the software online. At yet another level, it could be that you commissioned a software developer to create the software for you remotely, and then had him send the software executable files to you via email.

Accordingly, you may be able to get updates for the software online: by going to the graphic design software vendor’s website, and downloading the updates from there.

You may also be able to get updates for the software by calling in the software developer to code them right in your office.

At yet another level, you may be able to get updates for the software through email: where, for instance, the update files are send to you and you then download and install them. This is possible if, for instance, you use Gmail.com files attachment capabilities, which are basic part of the Gmail service, meaning that you don’t have to use a Gmail plugin to be able to attach these files. Huge executable files can, however, be hard to upload and send as attachments.

How to Ensure That Proper Standards are Maintained in a Graphic Design Company

03 February 2014 by Popeye

You need to put in place certain measures, as the person in charge of a graphic design company, to ensure that proper standards are maintained in the company.

Firstly, to ensure that proper standards are maintained in a graphic design company, you need to ensure that the people working there are properly motivated. This starts with seeing to it that they are reasonably well paid. Then it goes onto seeing to it that they are well treated: given the fact that poorly treated employees soon turn around and start treating the clients badly to revenge.

Secondly, to ensure that proper standards are maintained in a graphic design company, you need to ensure that there are well defined systems and processes. Where everybody is doing things the way they deem right, with no systems or processes to guide them, standards are bound to be lowered.

Thirdly, to ensure that proper standards are maintained in a graphic design company, you need to ensure that there is proper investment in the infrastructure that runs the company. You can’t, for instance, expect the designers to maintain proper standards in terms of output, if there are no proper computers, no proper printers and so on. This applies even if the graphic designers are extremely well motivated.
